Kabantu is woken violently from his dream of nothingness. Mild sunshine bursts through the cracks in the curtains. He covers his head.

Kabantu is woken violently by the sound of employment— car engines, slamming doors, relentless footsteps…, conversation.

The sweet aroma of activity in the kitchen slows, and eventually deters efforts of him returning to his favourite state of consciousness—unconsciousness.

After he spends a few minutes scrolling through the mail inbox (there’s nothing new— just one rejection email from the company he thought he would be working at by now. The same rejection email he saw yesterday. They're probably just making sure), he finally leaves the room and drags his unwilling body along.

He finds that the sky is still blue— nothing has changed. With this knowledge, he returns his body to hibernation.

Kabantu is woken violently from his dream of nothingness. He finds that the sky is still blue.
