Pandemonium

In apology for being two days late to the party, let me tell you about the girl gang I was a part of in my youth.
In S3, we had the biggest bully for an English teacher— one of those that felt no shame laughing as she gave punishments brutal enough to leave quite the impression on your developing brain. So once when she sent a comrade out of class, the forces (consisting of the girls I sat with and myself) rallied together and got her back in. (She was out cause she didn’t know the dictionary definition of ‘verb’. We just opened the dictionary.)
Thus, Pandemonium was birthed. The natural progression of things led to each of the eight members officially being sworn into office right away, with formal job descriptions— I was president. (We picked papers)
In the beginning, I’d say we fought crime— prefects, class captains, generally bottom of the barrel people, but then Pandemonium grew into something much bigger than us.
We all sat at the back of the class, me specifically in the corner, right next to the second door which happened to be glass, and had a hole punched through. This small resource was the anchor of our smuggling business with operations across the borders of classroom and not-classroom.
We also ended up in the music business, with a record label that managed two of our very own, Gayaza’s finest. These two had crazy pen game, and many nights, the last hour before lights-out was spent drumming desks in support and awe.
I actually remember this year being quite challenging, academically and mentally— I can’t say if it’s because I spent my days stressing over the future of our company (I had people relying on me that had to feed their families) or it’s cause of Pandemonium that I eventually made it out.
Anyway, shout out, gang. 🤟🏾
